The Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre hosted in collaboration with Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and Global Resolvers a high-level conference titled:
“The Singapore Convention: Rethinking Mediation as a Means of Rebalancing Risk and Influencing Investment.”
Held in the presence of H.E. the Secretary General of the Supreme Judicial Council, esteemed judges, members of the Centre’s Board, and distinguished experts, the conference explored the strategic role of mediation in enhancing foreign direct investment and strengthening risk management frameworks.
Discussions focused on integrating mediation into investment programmes, reinforcing investor confidence, and leveraging Oman’s accession to the Singapore Convention on Mediation to enhance cross-border enforceability of settlement agreements.
The event concluded with a practical workshop on:
“Mediation in Commercial Disputes: Practical Skills and Strategic Value,”
emphasising applied mediation techniques and strategic dispute management.
This initiative forms part of OAC’s ongoing efforts to position Oman as a regional hub for dispute resolution aligned with international best practices.
